What are your needs in a label printer? The Dymo LabelWriter and the Brother label printer are the top two label printers, and looking at them objectively to see what they have to offer might make your decision a little easier.
Dymo LabelWriter 450 Duo - This model prints an incredible 71 four-line labels per minute. It prints almost any label you might need including address labels, shipping labels, name badges, and file folder labels. It also prints plastic colored labels for the areas that are handled a great deal. The Dymo LabelWriter never needs ink or toner so your supply expenses are reduced. The software that comes standard with the label printer allows for printing directly from popular text programs. It operates with Mac and Windows operating systems, and it comes with starter printer label and a two-year warranty.
Dymo LabelWriter 450 Twin - This model holds two label rolls at a time allowing for faster printing when you have many labels to print. You can't find a faster address printer than the Twin. Printing is done on one roll at a time, but it switches automatically when one roll runs out. This works great when you have several labels to print. Other features are the same as the Dymo LabelWriter 450 Duo.
Brother QL-1060N - This Brother label printer has a built-in Ethernet connection to allow for easy networking. The four-inch print head is the right size for barcode printing and shipping labels. It also has a built in cutter so that longer labels can be printed as in banner lengths. The Brother label printer has 300 dpi resolution and prints approximately 69 four-line address labels per minute. Each printer label has the ability to feature excellent detail. Direct thermal printing allows for low maintenance. P-touch editor V5 software has three input modes. Incorporate images onto labels by easily taking screen captures and sizing them onto labels. The supplied software has a variety of built-in barcodes. The development software makes it easy to integrate the Brother QL-1060N on any network. You can print address labels, large shipping labels, visitor badges, banners, small signage, file folders, and mailing labels.
With the Brother QL-570VM Visitor Badge & Management Kit, you not only can print badges, but you have a data bank of the badges you've printed and a report generation accessible to almost any organization. If you need a better way to track entry and exit data on visitors, this is the software for you. The database program stores and offers the ability to query visitor records. The included P-Touch Editor software gives much greater capabilities to import graphics that make badges more unique and professional looking. (This is the software you need if your organization needs an efficient way to track visitor entry and exit information. The program allows users the ability to search the database records for specific visitor information. Badges are more professional and unique looking, also, because of the included P-Touch Editor software.) There are two check-in modes offered: Self Check-in mode for events and trade shows, and Reception mode for assisted check-in. The package includes the Brother QL-570 label printer, editing software, two rolls of badge stock, and twelve badge holders and lanyards. As you can see, both printers have great things going for them.
Brother has a printer specifically for badges, if that is the only thing you need. If you require address labels, then either Dymo LabelWriter is an excellent choice, and the Brother label printer compares favorably with them. (It is obvious that both the Dymo and Brother label printers have some excellent capabilities. The Brother can be used specifically for visitor badges and is a wise choice if that is all you require. The Dymo LabelWriter or the Brother either one are great choices if you need address labels.) Either of these office label printers will serve you well, and it's hard to choose between them. The Dymo name is probably better known and it prints slightly faster than its competition, but the Brother name has become one of high standards, too. |
